Monday: We took it easy getting up and moving today. The
boys went swimming, and then we were on our way to The Grand Canyon. It was a
couple of hours away. We arrived to the North Rim about 2pm. We just walked
around checking out the lodge a bit before the rest of the Fisher family arrived.
Everyone arrived about the same time. We helped unload cars, the settled in for
a few. Then, we were off for a western, chuck wagon styled, meal. A trolley car
picked us all up, and took us to a covered dining area to eat. We had tin
plates and cups with all the food you could eat. While eating the yummy food,
we got to listen to a husband and wife duo singing western songs. They were
great and made us laugh with their sense of humor. We went back to the lodge to
enjoy a sunset over the Grand Canyon. BEAUTIFUL!
Jim got out his guitar, and we sat around on the steps of
our cabins listening to him play, laughing, and talking. We went to bed at a
reasonable time this night, as a few of the gang are going out for an early hike…..maybe
down to the bottom of the canyon.
