Once again, we had a great night of sleep. Tom had to leave
early this am to go help with his volleyball coaching three hours away. We got
up and visited with Tom, then started to pack. After Tom left, we packed,
cleaned up, and got on our way to four corners. Beautiful weather is with us
again.
We stopped at Four Corners. Wow! It was five dollars per
person to go through a muddy/dirt/rocky parking lot, if you can call it that. I
stood in line for around fifteen minutes while my kids ran from state to state,
all the while, Scott standing on a raised step waiting to take our picture. It
was still neat to do, but has changed immensely since I was here at five years
old. It is built up now, with nice bricks defining each state line. It also has
each states flag, hung proudly, in each state’s zone. Around the main circle,
are many covered booths, which have ethnic tchotchke (choch-kees) available to
purchase.
On the side of the road in Arizona, there were these white pillar looking things. We stopped to take some pictures, and Jake wants to climb something! He has been talking about climbing the whole trip. So we stopped. The land/rock formations were awesome! Sadly, there was broken glass all around, and a left over sleeping bag lying on the ground, from who knows who. Anyways, it was a nice stop, and they were beautiful!
Crazy circle thing, looks like a sinkhole! |
